PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Robert R. Matheu - President, Chief
Executive Officer, and founding principal of Bennington
Partners, LLC.- Mr. Matheu has over 36 years of commercial banking experience, with
management positions held at money center and regional banks. His management experience
encompasses a variety of positions including Executive Vice President - Deputy Chief
Lender, Group Head in charge of Installment Lending, Commercial Real Estate, Residential
Mortgage, Asset Based Lending and International as well as Regional Lending manager,
Branch Division Head and a number of lending management positions. In addition to his
management responsibilities, he has been a member of a variety of Bank committees
including Board Loan Committee, ALCO, Strategic Planning, Marketing and Executive
Management.
Mr. Matheu graduated with Honors in Economics from San Jose State University and Stonier
Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University where his thesis was selected for Library
Publication. Mr. Matheu has lectured for a number of Banking Organizations and The Consumers Banking
Association School at The University of Virginia, as well as serving on various
professional and civic boards.
Karen Rojeski - Executive Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer - has over 25 years
commercial banking experience including assignments in workout and non-performing
commercial and commercial real estate loans. She has held various management positions
with money center and Connecticut regional banks as well as corporate assignments with GECC.
Ms. Rojeski graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Francisco State University and earned a
Master of Science, Financial Management Program from Fairfield University.
John J. Battista - Executive Vice President - has over 35 years of
commercial bank lending and management experience with money center, regional and
community banks, including Barclays Bank, Bankers Trust and Hartford National. Prior to
joining Bennington Partners he was a consultant to the financial services industry
specializing in loan placement, workout and due diligence.
Mr. Battista graduated from Iona College, Stonier Graduate School of Banking and Barclays
Bank Graduate Management Training Center.
Janet M. Wittmann - Senior Vice President
and Corporate Secretary - has over 20 years experience in
commercial banking and credit services. She has held a variety of management positions in the Lending and
Treasury areas. Ms. Wittmann graduated with a BBA in Finance from Western Connecticut State University.
Lori A. Ravit
- Senior Vice President and Regional Manager - has over 22 years
experience in regional and international banks. Her background
includes financial analysis and underwriting for commercial entities in a
variety of industries. Ms. Ravit
graduated from Pace University with a BBA in Banking and Finance.
Mark B. Surrusco - Senior Vice
President and Regional Manager - has 25 years of domestic and international banking
and related experience, including management of the Loan Review Group at a regional bank,
and management of the Mexico City office of a major Pennsylvania bank.
Mr. Surrusco is a graduate of Fordham University with a BA in History, and received an MS
in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Anthony Romano - Vice President - has over 20 years banking and
related experiences. He began his career at a regional bank where he developed an
expertise in government and specialty lending. He then worked for the FDIC where he
analyzed, valued and sold financial assets. Prior to joining Bennington Partners, he
worked for a division of a major corporation specializing in SBA lending.
Mr. Romano graduated from Sacred Heart University with a BS in Business Administration and
an MBA in Finance.
David P. Yarger - Vice President - has 25 years of commercial
banking experience. He has held a variety of management positions with regional and money
center east coast banks, with the latest being Vice President and Senior Real Estate
Officer with a major Connecticut Bank.
Mr. Yarger graduated with a BS from the University of Missouri.
S. Blake Axtell
has 20 years of
lending experience. His background includes community and regional banks,
with management positions dealing in commercial and real estate lending,
not-for-profits, and workouts. Mr. Axtell graduated from Kenyon College,
and earned an MBA in Finance from Western New England College.
Bonnie C. English
has over 20 years of commercial
banking experience (both money market and community banking), including the
design and implementation of the Commercial Loan Review function for a
regional bank. Ms. English has a BS in Banking and Finance from University
Southern Mississippi and an MBA from New York University.
Francis
A. English
has over 30 years of banking experience,
including management of both commercial lending and residential mortgage
departments. Mr. English has a BS from the University of Connecticut and a
degree from the Graduate School of Banking, University of Colorado.
Hayden T. Hawthorne has over 43 years experience in major money center
and regional banks. He held various management positions in national and middle market
lending. His assignments included commercial and real estate lending, private banking,
compliance management and organizing and developing a national division.
Mr. Hawthorne is a graduate of Yale University, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business
School.
Glenn W. Hayes has over 30 years experience in the
Bank Examination Division of the Connecticut State Department of Banking,
the majority of that time as Assistant Director. He
received a BS from the University of New Haven, and earned an MBA in Finance
from the same institution.
Thomas G. Hollinger
has approximately 35 years of
experience in commercial lending, commercial loan administration and special
asset management with a number of large regional banks. Mr. Hollinger
received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Juniata College.
Carol McDonald
has over 30 years of commercial
banking experience. Her last assignment, covering eleven years, was as a
Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for a money center bank. Ms. Mc
Donald received a BS and MBA from Indiana University.
Judith I.
Nokes has over 25
years of commercial banking experience, including various commercial loan
review//credit risk review functions. Prior to joining Bennington
Partners, she managed the Loan Review Department for the financial services
subsidiary of a large, multi-national corporation. Ms. Nokes
graduated with honors from Central Connecticut State University.
William P. O’Brien
has over 20 years of
experience in commercial lending and credit risk management, including
senior positions at large regional banks. Mr. O’Brien is a graduate of
Providence College, and received an MS in Finance from the University of
Baltimore.
Kent Van Scyoc
has approximately 20 years
of experience in commercial real estate lending and consulting services. He
has held senior positions with credit companies, banks and consulting
firms. Mr. Van Scyoc graduated with a BS from Purdue University.
William Vaughn
has over 35 years experience in
the finance industry, and has held executive management positions for
various banks and financial/bank consulting firms. Mr. Vaughn graduated
with a degree in Business & Finance from West Liberty State College, and
attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
Mark P. Woods has over 26 years experience in various senior
positions in money center banks, including international. Mr. Woods is a graduate of Georgetown University with a BS in International Economic
Affairs, and received an MA from New School for Social Research, New York.
Richard S. Wright has over 36 years experience in commercial mortgage
lending. He has worked at several major Connecticut regional banks. He held various
management positions including Senior Vice President - Head of Commercial Real Estate and
Construction Lending.
Mr. Wright graduated from the University of Bridgeport.
